  14. This article presents the frequently asked questions (FAQ) on the Apple Font Pack.

  18. Question: The package says there are 43 fonts included, but I only count 35. Where are the other 8 fonts?

  20. Answer: There aren't any missing fonts. The Apple Font Pack contains 43 TrueType fonts, even though only 35 font icons are on the Font Pack disks.

To conserve hard disk space, 8 of the fonts don't have files and icons. The system software generates these fonts using other fonts in the same family. The 8 fonts have designs that allow the system to produce them with good typographic quality results. The 8 fonts that have no font icons are:

  90. Answer: Turn on "Unlimited Downloadable Fonts" in the Page Setup Options dialog.

  93. Question: I just installed the Font Pack. Why is my printer so slow now?

  95. Answer: Slower printing results when documents have several typefaces, and because TrueType fonts print at the highest possible resolution your printer allows.

  100. Answer: You can use the Key Caps desk accessory to view them. Or, refer to page 23 of the "Getting Started with Type" manual that came with your Font Pack.
